IGLOO CIC (Community Interest Company) Est 2025 Powered with Generative & Agentic AI. (formerly 'Hexayurt Project' - 2005)
The Architects Deposit is a downpayment to get an Architect to work for your for the full length of the project. The architect will survey your garden and show you which Garden Igloos fit best; making a recommendation so you don't have to make the decision yourself. This service is not included in the listed prices; but to get the planning permission guarantee the Architects Deposit must be paid; You can use whatever Architect you like; but we recommend the Architects from the for-profit side of the social enterprise.
The Off Site Phase is the 120% of the material costs; if you do not take our recommended Architect this cost of the materials will not be guaranteed and will be subject to change. Further; we prioritise clients who do take our Architects on.
This deposit is always exactly half of the final balance for the erection of wind and water tight igloo. We like to do it the old fashioned way; half before and half after.
The Architect may require you to have some work prepared; as part of our guarantees we insist that the for-profit Architect managed ground works department handles this work. This may be; building a deck; laying concrete down; preparing 'spike foundations'. Further you may want higher fences installed to manage your own privacy; or deter any complaints from neighbours; and avoid any planning enforcement.
If you are building a MAMA or a NANA igloo; you will be required to build with full foundations; and hardwiring into the home; and again we require you to use the for-profit side of the social enterprise.
We assemble the igloo off site; nearly all our igloos are 2.5m high or wide and can fit on a flat bed vehicle. You are invited to come see the final assembly and make sure you are happy with it. You may want a smoother finish to the fibreglass or some other changes; and we will charge for that. Or if we have not assembled it to your satisfaction we will endeavour to carry on working on it.
Then we simply haul it; and place it on in your garden; either on spike foundations (for MAMA & NANA) we simply drop the igloo onto spikes we have fixed earlier; or we use 'staple foundations'; setting the igloo down on the grass and hammering in U shaped sharpened steel rods inside.
All work other than the erection of a wind and water tight igloo is handled onsite and managed by the Architect and the for-profit side of IGLOO PROJECTS; this company is called FOAM SHEDS & IGLOOS Ltd - and is listed as a subcontractor. You can off course choose to go with someone else; but we will not be able to honour any guarantees if you choose to.
Once the Onsite Phase is paid you will either have an aftercare agreement or not; depending on if you chose to go with our Architect's sub contractors or not. Further; if you violated the terms of the agreement we may not offer the aftercare agreement.
This includes agreeing to collect the igloo; and agreeing to take the igloo back to our facility and path fibreglass; (kind of like how a dry dock works).
If you have any further requests such as flooring, or, or shelving, or plastering the inside, or tiling the outside even; the for-profit side FOAM SHEDS & IGLOOs Ltd handles all these enquires; and we agree to offer a quote for everything - as long as you paid the Architects Deposit at the very beginning we agree to find someone for you for literally everything you may need.
