Below is an exhaustive list of SIPs or Structurally Insulated Panels. Some people think that SIP is a company but it is a methology or system. Our proprietary system rejects OSB and all timber on the grounds that fibreglass is more waterproof, has better compressive strength and is more easily worked. Furthermore OSB in the UK is not the genuine OSB that they use in the states. However for the onsite stage we use a variety of different decking and flooring systems.

Insulspan®

Insulspan’s R-Plus SIPs consist of EnerSpan® insulation cores with oriented strand board (OSB) structurally laminated to the interior and exterior faces. EnerSpan® is an expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation manufactured using BASF’s Neopor® F5300 Plus. This graphite-enhanced expanded polystyrene (GPS) insulation reduces radiation heat transfer. The addition of the graphite makes these GPS SIPs easily recognizable by their grey color tone. This is a US company, we can manufacture flooring and walling to this specification, so get an architect in. Or we can arrange for an import.

OC Lumber®

OC™ Lumber is a rotproof, rustproof composite alternative to traditional wood and steel. Designed to install like the lumber you use every day. Made to last and made to be used for deckings, as well as cladding and structural framing. The composite material is made from recycled polythene and fibreglass coated in vinyl ester a mix of polythene resin and epoxy. This is coming soon, only available in the states and only launched in 2023.

JACKOBOARD®

Jackboard is used for wetroom, and is made by covering the water proof material XPS (Extrduded Polystrene) with a silicone mesh a loose weave fibreglass. There is no resin they use cement slurry instead. The blocks are joined with polyeurathane jointing compound. SUPER is a development of JACKOBOARD and similar systems. PIR is slighly less waterproof, but forms a stronger bond with PIR/PUR and any polyeurathane.
